And in today’s revelation from market analyst firm InStat, “Consumers want the best of both worlds: Pay TV and Over-the-Top Video,” says Keith Nissen, In-Stat analyst. “Nearly 40% of consumer broadband household respondents want a combination of linear TV and on-demand TV, and nearly three quarters want to acquire all their video content from their pay TV service provider.
Wanting both doesn’t surprise me. How else could I watch MSNBC, FOX News and vintage Spenser for Hire episodes? I’m guessing that getting all through your pay TV service provider could - at least in theory – start to address the convenience factor. Thanks to advances in storage, access, and home networking technologies solutions exist. If only the business casees would catch up.
